Experiences at Pacific Lutheran University

Leadership roles throughout college career including elected position of ASPLU Events/Activities Director. Active role in campus TV channel as anchor, reporter and producer. Performed in Choir of the West and one of eight vocalists as part of PLU's first vocal jazz ensemble.

At PLU, I accomplished a triple-major in three fields dealing heavily in research and writing. All the while, I worked as a part-time university employee in positions using multi-media, web development, and statistical software.

Started the PLU MBA Student Advisory Council in order to bring together the professional student body as well as gain attention from potential students. Studied Organizational Management as well as a focus on International Business while studing in France.

I have written an article for the school newspaper, made a news segment for KCNS, ran a news camera, learned about media, public relations, sociology, political science, and English.

My senior year of college I worked as an RA (resident assistant) in Tingelstad hall, home to about 400 students. I was responsible for a wing of 22 female students, and for working with a staff of 16 to keep the hall safe, updated, and growing together as a community. I attended weekly staff meetings to assist in management and leadership of the residence hall. My job also included regular nights and weekends throughout the year where I would be on call for any emergencies within the hall, as well as performing walk-throughs of the building, and issuing disciplinary action for any offenses commited on campus. As an RA I lived in the building and was available to the students on my wing 24 hours a day, assisting in any medical emergencies, academic problems, and peer counceling. I was also responsible for creating opportunities for recreation, learning, and experiencing cultural diversity on my wing. By the end of the year I had succeeded in creating a close-knit community on my wing and forming excellent work relationships and friendships with all the members of my staff....

When I first started at PLU I was interested in doing computer science because I loved games and animations. Although I did not want to miss out of the $11,000 academic scholarship i recieved every year, I quickly realized that I wanted to do more of the art side of computers. I took classes in JAVA and C+....

Obtained Bachelor of Arts degree in print and broadcast journalism, with a minor in History. Wrote and directed several short films while at the university.
Graduated with a 3.17 cumulative GPA.

Received a grade education on a small campus environment. Developed skills and disciple to be successful in a career.
