What's the secret to getting hired at Pfizer?

Very difficult to get hired at Pfizer. The company was considered one of the very best organizations (training, product pipeline & a mixture of several cultures - I came from the Parke-Davis culture). You must know someone and network. You must have thick skin, be smart as you will have a full disease state and treatment conversation with very smart people (Primary Care Physicians, Neurologists, Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, PA's, Nurses) and possess incredible self-initiative, creativity, work-ethic, consultative selling skills, dynamic communication skills and incredible teamwork skills. The majority of your sales calls last between 30 to 45 seconds.

You must be part of the solution for your customers (healthcare providers) and not an interruption in their day. The industry, right down to your words and activities are highly regulated by the FDA. A lot of fun!

As a District Manager you must lead by example, treat your people with respect and develop/coach them to be their very best. I had incredible teams at Parke-Davis & Pfizer. Hiring dynamic people who are better than you are is the key to success. A District Manager must provide Leadership, Vision and a Common Goal and must be a problem solver as well as someone who deals well with change. A very challenging position. A very rewarding position!
