Experiences at Powhatan County Schools

When my lead teacher was suddenly taken ill I was asked to write lesson plans for a period of several weeks. I was also asked to step in to do her report cards and parent/teacher conferences.

The most challenging aspect of my job was the need to be completely flexible. As an assistant I would be called upon to do a great variety of things often at a moments notice. I was also required to fill many duty positions that required constant change and flexibility within my attitude and schedule....

I created the parts needed to implement teacher's lesson plans. This included copying, computer creations, and gathering of needed material. I ran our reading incentive program. I did all the "behind the scenes" activities to make the classroom run smoothly and efficiently.
