Experiences at ProWorld

ProWorld is looking for open minded volunteers whose skills can be used to benefit the local community. In order to work at ProWorld one must be comfortable with living in a poorly developed area where crime and poor health care are very large concerns. Furthermore, one must be able to overcome both personal and work related challenges when one is asked to complete tasks in which they lack experience.

For example, during my internship I had to create a cost analysis for the organic farming project that I was working on. For this particular task my supervisor merely came into the office asked me to create the analysis then left for the day. At first I had no idea how I would accomplish the task at hand. With the foremost problem being that I had absolutely no idea what components go into creating an organic farm. Opposed to giving up due to lack of knowledge I merely took the task on hand with vengeance and began to research how to build an organic farm. Once I had figured that out the rest came pretty easy and eventually lead to not only completing the task at hand but submitting a very professional report that I was proud to turn in.

The example above shows that in order to work for ProWorld it is absolutely necessary that one is capable of overcoming personal and work related challenges opposed to omitting defeat when put in a demanding situation....
