I WORKED FOR QWEST FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS AND DID EVERYYTHING FROM SIMPLE POTS TO DSL TO T1 INSTALLATION AND MAINTAINANCE.

System builds, solution design, solution integration, troubleshooting, people management, project management, relationship management.

Anything and everything really. For most of my time at Qwest I was responsible for driving new revenue into our sales center in Seattle. I loved it. Talking to alot of different people insured that everyday was different which keeps things interesting. Lately I have moved to a sales support role which has me working with large business customers. I miss the excitment of sales and hope to be working in sales again soon....

Interact and coach diverse employee constituencies for 44,000 employees across the 14 state local region and our of region offices. Provide regular feedback to vendors (Health Care, 401K, Tuition Assistance) on process gaps and operations for increased efficiency. Actively facilitate the continuous improvement of HR services and information provided to employees (including policies, procedures, systems, forms and reports). Assist recruiters in all aspect of the hire. Generate job requisitions/postings; create offer letter packets for all employee levels. Assist in sourcing/screening of applicants as needed. Coordinate background checks report results to hiring manager and recruiter. Work effectively with all management levels to assist/train them on hiring and on-boarding process. Assist in the facilitation of weekly new hire orientation for local and remote employees covering company overview, benefits, and policies. Conduct testing as needed. I was a face to face representative of Qwest Communications, I sold products and services, helped customers with product, service, and billing issues, and I tracked inventory.

Work attire is business casual. No jeans, no sandals, etc. People are expected to display an air of professionalism which is a good thing considering you never know when a client may be visiting.

Qwest does offer opportunities for both lateral and vertical advancement. Many people have been with Qwest for over 10 years having worked in a number of different areas. Qwest is a Denver based business so many of these opportunities exist only at the corporate office.
