How would you describe what you did at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute?

My major is very broad, my concentration was in Graphic Design, I also had a minor in psychology. I took a variety of classes in the communications area including Intermediate Visual Design and Graphic Design for a Corporate Identity . I received good grades and had an active social life. How would you describe what you did at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute?

I was a teacher's assistant as an undergrad student for the Introduction to Engineering Design course. The course is focused upon hands on design and prototyping. Each semester the students are divided into interdisciplinary teams and given a challenge or task to design to. (One semester's task was to design and build an automatic Frisbee launcher that launched colored Frisbees at their corresponding colored targets.) My role as a teacher's assistant was to aid student teams in their design, advise on prototype construction as well as troubleshooting software, electronic, and mechanical systems. I taught a class each semester on how to build complete products and drawings using Solidworks. While working as a Teaching assistant, I held office hours, I graded papers and held extra help sessions for the final project.

As a Learning Assistant, I taught approximately 250 incoming freshmen learning strategies and time managment skills. I actively sought out failing students and guided them to a more successful academic career. In addition, I acted as a resident assistant.
