What's the secret to getting hired at Robert Half Technology?

Robert Half Technology (RHT) is a recruting agency. I have worked for two different clients on three assignments for them since the beginning of 2007 and have had a good experience with both RHT and their clients.
For best results, submit your resume at the RHT website. After doing this I was
called for their intake process and an initial interview. While there I took two Microsoft application proficiency tests, then met with a recruiter, discussed my experience and reviewed my portfolio with him. So be prepared: Take the paperwork they request, be ready to take proficiency tests in the applications you list on your resume, bring your portfolio. Dress professionally.

I was fortunate enough to be the first placement for a new client of theirs. The project went very well: the original contract was extended, then I was picked up by another department for a new assignement, and was called back several months later for follow-up work. This also resulted in RHT being able to place other employees there. Consequently, I have received deferential treatment from everyone I've ever had contact with at RHT.

The moral of the story is that you get out of a recruiting agency what you put into it, from the impact you make at your initial in-person contact to your performance with a client.

I started from the ground up working as the receptionist, than as sales support, and now as a sourcer for RHT - I hope to one day move to Recruiter but ultimately you have to be sharp and quick, outgoing and personable, and have ADD! ;-)
