What's the funniest thing that ever happened to you at Select Speciality Hospital?

They had changed my schedule & I didn't know it,so @ 7p my Supervisor is calling me saying"Where are you"
I immediately went in and was only 15 minutes late ,embarassed & worked in my street clothes.Not really funny ,but the closest thing that I can come up with.There's not much room for funny
stuff there,it's a very serious unit-keeps you on your toes.... read more

How did you find your job at Select Speciality Hospital?

Through an employee that I had worked with at another facility.Prior to that,I had thought that Select was just another Transition Care Unit.It is very far from that.It's closer to a ICU Unit than anything that I can describe.They are extremely particular about who they hire.They only want the best,& that's what they have.... read more

What did you learn along the way at Select Speciality Hospital?

ACLS certified.Telemetry interpretation.How great it is to work with such Professionals on a team basis.Bad attitudes are not tolerated at Select.The management will deal with that rapidly.The level of care needed for those patients doesn't leave time to deal with unprofessional type people with disrespectfull,non-patient oriented individuals.... read more

What are the three best things about working at Select Speciality Hospital?

Teamwork,Variety of patient assignments,the level of Professionalism from the entire medical team-from the CNA's all the way to the Dr.'s-We had a great deal of trust & respect for each other.

What's the toughest problem you've had to solve at Select Speciality Hospital?

Stabilizing Code victims for transfer to ICU,if the Dr. chose to transfer.And seeing middle aged patients,whom could not be Vent weaned,taken off the Vent to pass-on & comforting the families after the fact.
