Responsible for the creation and management of Logistics department for a $100m manufacturer of durable goods. Responsible for activities involved in raw component materials management and transportation management (inbound & outbound). PL&L responsibility for operations and transportation.
Operations activities:
Disengaged 3PL service provider and assumed logistics responsibilities
Management of logistics staff and materials handlers including offsite warehouse and staff
All raw component material management and finished goods shipping
Transportation:
Implemented Transportation Management System
International Inbound - Asia and European sourcing
Domestic Outbound transportation - $10M
Inbound (International and Domestic) $2M
Reduced outbound and inbound transportation spend by 140 and 20 basis points respectively
Management of carrier base supporting inbound materials and finished goods shipping....
