Just be genuinely nice, enthusiastic about the job and really want to be there. Give yourself as much availability as possibly. It's not about how much you know about coffee. What really matters is how much you're willing to learn.

Because of my store's location, I frequently have to help customers who don't speak or understand much English, which is the only language I know. It's important to me to deliver the same quality of service to these customers as to others, but I sometimes feel overwhelmed when I can't comprehend a customer's request. In general, I've been able to successfully communicate with my customers, but sometimes the process involves a lot of rather frustrating trial-and-error!...
