Experiences at THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL/Medical Center

Drug order entry, admixture, preperation, inventory. Medical Professional relations, code responses, cytotoxic/antineoplastic preperation, delivery. dosage calculations, aseptic technique.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit:
Charted blood work results, ordered x-rays and lab work.
Called pediatricians to go to delivery rooms for emergency deliveries.
Screened visitors and greeted parents before they would enter the nursery.
Women's and Infants Unit:
Completed charting, filing patient records, contacted doctors and nurses to assist patients.
Helped to ambulate patients.
Screened and greeted family and visitors.
Placed calls to different departments to order blood work, x-rays and other special services that were required.
Coordinated with the dietary department to make sure that meals were ordered for patients.
Labor and Delivery Unit:
Greeted expectant parents, took information for doctors and nurses.
Helped patients to get settled in their rooms.
Contacted anesthesia department and pediatricians for pending assistance.
Contacted laboratories for blood work to be done.
Placed stat calls to doctors when needed.
Worked with nursing staff to assist when necessary....
