What are the three best things about working at TN CTR For Internal Medicine/Summitt Medical Group?

A learning experience.I learnt a lot from the Dr. diagnosis for different situations.I also was taught how to work the lab.Learned a lot of computer skills,actually taught myself some of it-scheduling-so that my patients calling or receiving lab results that needed lab follow-ups wouldn't have to be put on hold to schedule an appointment.Learnt the ICD-9 coding & pre-cert process for which I have a great understanding of.We had a great group of really great Dr.'s to work with.One of them is actually my PCP now & I would recomend any one of them to anyone in need of a Dr.... read more

Irate drug seekers coming into the office & not liking it because we were sending them to pain management.

Multitasking & dealing with patients whom weren't pleased with occurances from other employees.Drug seekers also.

How would you describe what you did at TN CTR For Internal Medicine/Summitt Medical Group?

Multitasking-all didn't show up on job profile.Roomed patient's for 6 Physician practice.Filled in for Lab Tech doing 50-75 sticks per day-from ICD-9 coding to courier pick-up.Did some scheduling.Assisted Dr.'s with minor surgical procedures,biopsies,& PAP's.Patient teaching.Lab & test result call-backs.Referal appt set-ups on occassion,Medication Pre-certs.A huge amount of computer skills,Electronic medication ordering or script print-outs,MSDS Book update,ER stock maintenance,IV hydration,INT insertion,IV diuretic pushes & monitoring,One Code Blue,12 Lead EKG's,Visual testing,DOT & Immigration physicals,charting,straight caths.... read more
