Not sure anymore, they are laying people off, so I would imagine your experience has a lot to do with any positions that my be open.

Not sure what this question is but if they are reading anything it is the continued downsizing of the company, Telecom is a hard business to work for anymore.

What's the best team you worked with at Tellabs Operations?

The best team was working with the remote Field Techs. Being out in the field working on projects they usually worked alone, I was their Corporate contact. I was a positive, reliable, resource for them to have someone that they could go to whenever they needed anything. I never denied help to them, and they felt more connected with the company for that reason. I knew that this very important for the field and the company. I was contracted to work there, after 8 months proved myself and was hired as a Tellabs employee.

What advice would you give to a new employee at Tellabs Operations?

Telecom is a very vulnerable business, work hard at your job, do not waste any company time and money, be dependable and try to focus on cost savings. Have a "can do" attitude and be serious about your job.

What did you learn along the way at Tellabs Operations?

I learn computer skills, Project Management skills, how to work in a Corporate environment, learning a lot about people and working as a team. I also had a better insight as to what the economy demands in order to keep a business functioning.

What are the three best things about working at Tellabs Operations?

The experience I recieved daily, working with some of the largest Telecom wireless customers in the US, being rewarded/kudos for doing a good job. The extra bonus I was proud to say I was working at Tellabs as a Project Manager, Tellabs is a great company to work for.

What's the toughest problem you've had to solve at Tellabs Operations?

Toughest problem was to complete 20 projects within two weeks before a work "freeze" the customer planned due to the holiday schedule. Reaching out for resources and submitting all my paperwork and entering all the necessary data before hand required me to be very focused and deligent in setting up the projects. I did however, succeed and all projects completed on time.... read more

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at Tellabs Operations?

As the company downsized we were asked to provide new ways and ideas of doing business, I overcame that with working more closely with the customer buy paying more attention to their needs and requests. I provided them with the we can do that attitude, it may have been a little more responsibility for me but it guaranteed the customer would be confident that I (Tellabs) would do a good job. How would you describe what you did at Tellabs Operations?

My first experience was as an Administrative Assistant as a sole contact for 240+ field people, issued and kept records of all assets assigned to the individual which the company promoted me to a Logistics Coordinator, Customer Service had a structure change and company promoted me to an Adminitrative Assistant to the department Director, still responsible for record keeping in Customer Service Department. Company restructured again and was promoted to a field tech scheduler, managed, daily, the schedule for jobs for 140+ field service folks with the Central and Eastern portion of the US, the company restructured again and I was then promoted to a Project Manager, all my past work experiences help me to excel at my final position at Tellabs. I developed strong record keeping, organizational skills, and scheduling skills which allowed me not only to complete 100% on time projects but also to save costs of projects.
