The people in the agency are devoted to preserving and sharing the culture and history of Texas, and the environment is refreshing. Working so near the archives, with access to the amazing historic documentation and flags from the state is visually inspiring. Working directly adjacent to the Capitol, and being directly funded through legislative order, provides access to the legislative process, and to the regularly scheduled free bar-b-q on the Capitol lawn....

I was brought into a project near the end of the development cycle, evaluated the accessibility and usability of the site and determined that a redesign was required for improved usability as well as to incorporate legislatively required links. The client liaison who had successfully managed the project for more than a year, was impacted by a health issue around the time I joined the project, and the short time line for release of the project coupled with the release of another large-scale, time-sensitive project required balancing the needs of various stakeholders and contributors, while moving the project forward at a rapid pace. The project is scheduled to be presented to stakeholders at the Texas Library Association annual meeting in San Antonio Texas on April 13, 2007....

During the interview you will be given a list of questions and between 10 and 20 minutes to review the questions. Write down answers. You do not get to keep the sheet after the interview, but you can read from it during the interview. The interview team will ask the questions aloud and you will respond to the group. Give at least four examples of each skill they ask about. They grade on a point system, and the more points you get, the more likely you will win out over the other candidates, even if they have more experience than you....
