What's the secret to getting hired at The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation?

Sir, I am a young person of 61 years. I did my 5 year integrated coarse in engineering ( Ceramics) from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in 1972. Since then I worked in one of the best American Ceramic Company, Carborundum Universal Ltd, in India till 1980 in its Central R & D Division, Super Refractory Manufacturing Div and Grinding Wheel Manufacturing Div.as Ceramic Specialist. Then I was posted as Technical Manager - Projects in one of the oldest Company of the world Carborundum Group purchased namely E.I.D.Parry (I) Ltd. (East India Distillery). Finally, I worked in TATA House till 1994, as their Project Manager in their Project & Application Dev. In fact I have made a number of projects as under

1. Modernization of EID Parry I Ltd. (Sanitaryware & Tiles Plant)
2. 3 major Refractory manufacturing plant in India
3. Third phase modernization of TATA STEEL.
4. Modernization of Bokaro Steel Plant,Salem Stainless Steel Plant
5 Modernization of Nalco, Hindalco, Indalco Aluminum manufacturing Plant

From 1994 to 1997 , I did my own reseach work on utilization of Solid Waste Pollution Material into making of Ceramic products and I am a recipient of a National Award in this regard.

From March 1997 to Dec 2006 I was working in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as an enginneer, and there also I installed a Refractory manufacturing plant with my own technology and engineering , namely Saudi Refractories Industries, Dammam, Saudi Arabia, where now 21 engineers are working happily.

I came back to my country in India and since Jan 2007 I am engaged myself as Technical Consultant to Nalco and Manishri Group in Orissa, India.

I have developed making Constructional Building Brick / Block, Artificial Ceramic Stone Chip, Roofing Tiles, Ceramic Sanitaryware made out of "Red Mud" a Solid waste pollution material of Aluminum Industry. I filled a joint patent with Nalco with respect to its Process Technology. Nalco has agreed to provide Land and utilities to go for manufacturing plant. So I need finance.

I can make electric power fr4om city garbage ( any type of organic material). 2 kgs garbage can yield 1 unit of electric power.

I also formed a Registered Women & Children Welfare Society with the money earned by me. but then I need much more money to shape the project which I made for them and vetted by Ministry of Industries , Govt. of India with respect to its Technical Feasibility and Economic Viability. But then the money required for implementing the same I don't have so my dreams are getting delayed.

Will " The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation " help me for women and children of India. " , I shall be very much grateful to Respected Bill Gate to help- us for this Nobel Job I am engaged with for the women and Children.

I read in Times of India dated 25th July 2009, that Bill Gate talk to TOI that he is spending 80% of his time for children welfare, so this request I raise to him, Sir.

A line of reply is very much solicited . My e-mail ID : ambarroy53@yahoo.com

Best Regards

How would you describe what you did at The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation?

For the U.S. Library Program I conducted day-long training sessions with public librarians in twenty states on two dozen computer topics, including Windows fundamentals, MS Office, web design, PC maintenance, and Internet searching. For each library, I set up and networked computer labs from 2-to-18 workstations and servers, often interfacing with unknown ISPs, hardware, and software requirements. I also developed and taught staff development classes on digital photo manipulation, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), blogging, and small business web hosting. Travel was 2/3 time, and I visited 38 states.... read more
