How would you describe what you did at Thomson, SA (Technicolor)?

Responsibilities:
* Directed all worldwide internal and external communications activities for the four operating units of the $3.5 billion Services division of Thomson (Technicolor business), including Content Services, Home Entertainment Services, Theatrical Services, and Network Services,
with full P&L responsibility for annual PR budget of $500,000.
* Supervised all facets of the division's worldwide corporate communications efforts, including media, industry analyst, and investor relations; corporate and service positioning; branding; executive communications; employee communications; crisis communications and reputation management; and trade show PR support.
* Designed and executed PR campaigns in conjunction with the company's Paris-based corporate communications team, and marketing communications managers in other strategic business units (SBUs).
* Effectively managed and diffused all crisis communications scenarios for the company, including 16 restructuring actions in 18 months; volatile environmentalist demonstrations; thefts of client intellectual property; and erroneous rumors concerning mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and facility closures; serve as official company spokesperson on all corporate matters.
* Supervised all government relations and public affairs activities, including corporate lobbying on key technology and communications issues affecting company; conducting meetings with important Congressional leaders and customer government affairs contacts; and developing and issuing media statements on policy initiatives.
* Consistently provided strategic corporate communications counsel to Services division and operating unit executives regarding business crises, investor relations issues, and reputation management concerns.

Accomplishments:
* Improved departmental productivity and performance by over 250% within the first nine months of implementation by dramatically overhauling the division's existing PR infrastructure, and designing new policies, procedures, and tools.
* Elevated media and analyst coverage by over 500%, and generated over 750 million gross impressions, in first 12 months through proactive media relations outreach and strong relationship-building activities with business and trade media outlets.
* Enhanced average monthly departmental news output by over 300% by aggressively researching, securing, packaging, and distributing newsworthy corporate and service-related information.
* Generated over 50 consumer media hits and 200 million gross impressions by spearheading Technicolor's first consumer marketing campaign in over 30 years with 2005 book release of Glorious Technicolor: The Movies' Magic Rainbow.
* Secured more than 120 speaking engagements for division executives in past 18 months, an increase of over 1,000% in prior years, by creating and implementing company's first formal executive communications and visibility initiative, including image consulting, media training, speaking engagement placements, speech writing, presentation and talking points development, and generating executive profiles and Q&As in business media outlets.
