Experiences at UPS

Well first I started off as a tepmorary employee. They liked the way I worked so they ofered me a full-time position. I took it.

Know a driver and get recommended. That's how I got started. Another driver also told me that, back in the day, they would mostly hire sports fans and athletes.
If you want to work for UPS be ready for at least three and a half hours of continuous labor.

The secret at getting hired is being fastastic with numbers, because if hired you will be using numbers in a daly basics. For example, while sorting boxes your reading the label or scanning to label boxes from covier belt takes a lot of physical activity. Even more stragies are needed to get the job done in a daly basics, for example taking boxes from slide to truck and maintain organized, fast peace, and clear slide to avoid hazards....

The secret to getting hired at UPS is just mainly conditioning yourself both physically and mentally to be able to do the job of a package handler. To perform the physical standards of the job make sure that you keep yourself in in a very healthy ahspe to be able to perform the functions of the job. Mentally be able to be aware of your surroundings which is watch out for any safety hazards that are both inside and outside the building....

Try and keep up with the driver, and be at his disposal at all times. Learn how to help him/her do thier job more effectively, and be able to think ahead to understand where you will be going next on your route.

How to read the labels and understand what they mean. How to work with the same person everyday. How to follow instructions at a faster pace.

Being able to move around all day and stay busy.
Meeting new people and new buisnesses.
Learning my way around a new area.

Learning how to use both boards (electronical device with the information about the deliveries).

Being able to keep up with the fast paced enviornment.
