What's the secret to getting hired at Union Carbide?

I started as a temporary working in the mailroom. Was made permanent. Went to night school at the same time for a secretarial certificate. Then I bid on a job in the facilities department.

Started as Inspector, promoted to Group Leader then Supervisor.
Supervised the Receiving Inspection area and performed source inspection, vendor corrective actions and audits.
