How would you describe what you did at University of California, Davis?

You could call my accomplishments at UC Davis two faceted. My Engineering work culminated in a senior design project analyzing the forces involved in placement of the X-ray cassette by Imaging technicians at UCD Medical Center during portable X-radiography. My group partner and I analyzed the problem and brainstormed some solutions. We then chose the best percieved solution, implemented it, and then designed our own testing protocols; using and EMG machine to test the improvement of our solution over the existing circumstances.

At the same time I was very active in many student organizations. I was an active volunteer in the student run Shifa Community Clinic for the underserved and uninsured. This clinic worked under the auspices of the UC Davis School of Medicine. I helped care for patients, dispensed drugs, ran patient labs, and helped expand the clinic. I also ran a student publication called Al-Wasilah. We published quarterly and I served as an editor, writer, and layout manager. We worked with many other student publications under the ASUCD office known as AS PAPERs. Working through student government I also helped secure over $14,000 dollars worth of computer equipment for AS PAPERs through a student committee that I vice chaired and a lot of lobbying. I also frequently helped the Muslim Student Association, Children's Relief and You, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, and others in organizing events and charity programs.
