How would you describe what you did at University of MIchigan Ann Arbor?

* Event Coordination/Leadership - Held two, two-year consecutive marketing executive positions with two separate student organizations; The Black Volunteer Network and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. - Epsilon Chapter. I have been elected as marketing coordinator for the annual campus Welcome Week, Scholarship Pageant (2 yrs.). Director of Images of Identities, a campus entertainment group (2 yrs.), Self-started my own marketing solutions profession for various night entertainment clients and University departments.
* Computer knowledge- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites including Word, PowerPoint and Excel; Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; Windows Movie Maker; experience with Microsoft Dreamweaver; and Apple Operating Systems computers.
* Teamwork- Three years experience working in teamwork environment at University of Michigan's Athletic camp program as a camp counselor and office staff member, added teamwork experience in customer service. Experience in using teamwork for event/game promotions for University of Michigan's Athletic Marketing department specifically the Men's Hockey Team.

How would you describe what you did at University of MIchigan Ann Arbor?

Contact vendors and educators, arranging hotel and air travel for educators, and clinicians attending meetings outside of the University.

Plan meals and breaks for groups

Submit forms and signatures to the American Board for Certification for obtaining the educational credits.

Coordinate all pre-arrangements for conferences.

Plan and develop programs, agendas, budgets, and services according to customer requirements.

Conduct post-event evaluations in order to determine how future events could be improved.

Review event bills for accuracy, and approve payment.

Maintain the on-line calendar of events for the Amputee Support Group held at the center, as well as a manual dry erase calendar for in-house events for the clinicians and technicians at Orthotics & Prosthetics.

Contact vendors and educators, arranging hotel and air travel for educators, planning meals

Submit forms and signatures to the American Board for Certification for obtaining the educational credits, rooms
(hotel conference space, on-site classrooms, etc) are set-up and ready before the seminars and are cleaned up afterwards.

Coordinate all pre-arrangements for conferences.

Planning and arranging payment for all aspects of the seminars, sending flyers and brochures to invite other area practitioners and technicians to seminars, arranging meals and the availability of audio-visual equipment education related planning as needed.

Confer with staff at a chosen event site in order to coordinate details

Coordinate services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing and event security

Inspect event facilities in order to ensure that they conform to customer requirements.

Monitor event activities in order to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, satisfaction of participants, and resolution of any problems that arise.

Plan and develop programs, agendas, budgets, and services according to customer requirements.

I majored in English and minored in biology. I've also taken several pre-nursing classes, as I may be interested in getting a nursing degree in the future.

I gained a lot of experience in many different areas of study during my time at Michigan so far, and have chosen a degree program that is extremely well-rounded with a large pool of classes and subjects to choose from.
