the toughest problem has not been with the technical aspects of my job but with reconciling and learning to work within a large bureacratic system. I am a creative problem solver, one of my best personal qualities, and due to the nature of the work environment and its scope it is very difficult to use those skills and facilitate positive change without going through several layers....

the most challenging aspect of my job is the cultural diversity and communicating a lack of judgement and bias to those individuals who have marginal lives due to a lack of resources and opportunities and developing trust with them in order to do the work of getting healthy

Provide counseling or mental health problems assisting individuals to learn to achieve and maintain mental health, set goals and understand their triggers. Lead groups and develop training for co-occurring disorders (mental heatlh and substance abuse), respond to crises and assist with resolution

I networked when I was looking for a job and due to my experience with EAP, substance abuse and training, as well as recommendations regarding my counseling skills was hired

I provide mental health counseling, assessment and treatment to individuals with a range of mental health disorders and many with substance abuse problems as well
