The secret to getting hired is to first get an interview.

The most important tool one has is their resume - this is how you market yourself. If you see a job you know you can do -look over the job description -if the job description looks similar to a position you have had before pop that part right into your resume. Employers want to see that you actually have the experience you (and your recruiter) say you do and they want to know where you did it and how long you did it for.

If you are looking at a Systems Analyst job and you see "User Acceptance Testing" and you have experience with "User Acceptance Testing" put it WORD FOR WORD in your resume! If the manager sees what they want to see (aka buzzwords) you will usually get an interview and thats the first step to getting hired....
