What are the three best things about working at Verizon?

Learning about and how to work with the different Unions across the country. The ability to chose the hours you wanted to work. The teamwork that was required of everyone to get the job done everyday without penalty and the friendships that are made while working in such a fast paced environment.

What's the toughest problem you've had to solve at Verizon?

The Force Administrator Specialists are required to meet contractual obligations with outside Vendors on a daily and monthly basis. At times, there would be a disruption of service due to inclement weather or power outages. The decision to contact Senior Executives needed to be made in a matter of minutes, sometimes causing us to phone these executives off hours at home. We needed to be aware of the problem, who was working on it, how high the incident needed to be elevated and the action plan we had to take to provide exceptional customer service.... read more

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at Verizon?

We were required to work numerous shifts, 6:00am-3:30pm, 3:00pm-Midnight, weekends and holidays. It proved to be an experience I had learned to enjoy. The high-paced working environment and juggling a personal life was hard but an exceptional learning process.

* Scheduled and managed multiple Call Centers
* Maintained contractual obligations with outside vendors
* Reported directly to Senior Management occurrences with vendors
* Determined call volume discrepancies
* Monitored disruption of service in Call Centers
* Analyzed the Real-Time data to
determine appropriate number of operators needed per 15 minute quarter
* Responsible for updating and maintaining historical data
* Established reports concerning call trends throughout the year
* Organized all daily and monthly reporting
* Primary point person for Implementation Team to ensure Call Centers were receiving correct data and volume
* Worked with Senior Associates in all Call Centers

What's the secret to getting hired at Verizon?

I took the test requirements and was the only individual to pass. Once I got my foot in the door, I knew my career path ahead of time and was very quickly promoted to Management. My loyalty and integrity to the company has proven itself. I have never missed a day of work in 5 years.
The
kind of work we do is important to yourself and others. I want to feel like I'm making a contribution to my employer. I believe that we should be able to express our talents, intelligence and creative ability. I enjoy looking for advancement in my career.... read more

The most challenging aspect of Verizon is the ability to be a well rounded employee. You are sometime put in a position that doesn't best fit your better ability.

How would you describe what you did at Verizon?

At Verizon I handled various clerical duties as well as inbound call fromntechnicians and customers. I would fullfill what was needed as per the needs of the business. I have been on confrence calls,maintained morning reports,overtime hours and kept the maintance on the memorandum boards. Kept inventory, ordered supplies, maintained calenders, managed travel arrangements and set some meetings.... read more
