What's the secret to getting hired at Verizon Business?

I was hired through a contractor for a permanent position. My background with the military taught me how to handle myself in an interview. That and good personal relation skills got me the job. After I was hired my supervisor said he was extremely impressed by how well I did throughout my interview, and that alone pushed me ahead of the other candidates. What are the most challenging aspects of your job at Verizon Business?

The most challenging aspect of this postion was time management. I supported 34 people who were all generating complex orders. To keep up with the work load, I utilized my excellent organization skills, flexibility and effective time management skills.

How would you describe what you did at Verizon Business?

*Provides technical sales support, network design expertise and advice to Systems Integrator account Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and their customers; representing approx. 1.2 billion dollars of revenue to Verizon Business.
*Currently assigned as a Dedicated, Relationship Sales Engineer to the
EDS account, one of 3 Sales Engineers that help foster and cultivate the EDS/Verizon Business partnership from a technical perspective.
*Responsible for interfacing with customers at a technical level, determining customer's voice, video and data equipment capability & needs of the Verizon network from proposal stage through implementation and ongoing post-sales support.
*Responsible for preliminary fact-finding, identifying appropriate Verizon products or services and pricing the product to fit the given customer application; takes a lead role in preparing the proposal and assisting in presentation of the final proposal.
*Delivers presentations to the customer and account team on Verizon products and services, staying current on new and emerging technologies such as Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) and Voice over IP (VoIP) telephony integration.

Worked within a small team supervising 400+ employees. Attended weekly meetings, completed required daily paperwork, assisted in writing monthly newsletter and coordinated contests and events. Supervised and assisted new trainees.

Performance Coach- Trained new and/or struggling operators on live calls.

Relay Operator- Data entry, call processing and customer service. Maintained typing speed of 65 words per minute, call quality scores of 99.5 percent cumulatively, schedule adherence of 99 percent, compliance of 100 percent.
