Lead Developer/DBA supporting multiple product releases in a deadline-oriented environment.
* Managed and configured database servers and instances; created, managed, and populated databases; performed database backups and restores; cloned databases; created and managed database objects (ie, tablespaces, tables, constraints, triggers, stored procedures, and indexes); and installed Oracle patch sets and ole db providers. Utilized Oracle import/export utilities. Utilized data migration tools such as DTS and SQLWays to transfer data between Oracle and SQLServer.
* Monitored system performance and user sessions. Analyzed tables/indexes for cost-based optimization and row migration detection. Tuned Oracle code using explain plan and Oracle-supplied package dbms_profile. Researched and delivered presentation to developers on Oracle tuning using dbms_profile.
* Converted SQL Server code to Oracle for C+ applications and provide knowledge transfer to application developers. Used ref cursors and object relational features to extend PL/SQL. Troubleshot complex code issues for applications in multi-user environment. Created Microsoft UDLs (Universal Data Links).
* Enforced change management policies; utilized MKS for source code control. Maintained data model using Rational Rose.
