Experiences at Vulcan Maritime

My main reason for accepting my current position was for career development as well as my passion for working on the water. My job combines both my love for the water with a career I love as well, the best of both worlds really. In my mind life should never really be about the money, but rather your enjoyment....

I was lucky, in so much as I have never really been unemployed since graduation. All three of my jobs I have been offered and accepted prior to quiting my then, current, job. Jobs in the maritime industry seem to be plentiful for people with the right skills and I have turned many a job down.

I was fortuante to have my resume forwarded onto my current company by a good friend of mine. I have always found that it is important to friends and contacts as possible, as you never know who might be able to offer you a job. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Transportation. My major is 100% applicable to the current job I hold as an officer in the US Merchant Marine and 3rd Officer on a large private yacht.
