How would you describe what you did at
Walgreens Pharmacy?
When I first started at Walgeens I worked in the photolab for about six months and decided I would like to move around to a different department. I decided to work in the pharmacy. I started out as a cashier in the pharmacy and eventually became a certified technician. Staying with the company and showing that I was dependable and dedicated helped me move up in the years to a Senior Technician. As a Senior Tech, I have a little more responsibility than other technicians. Creating the schedule, drug returns, inventory control, entering and filling prescriptions, and insurance claims were the main jobs I performed at Walgreens....

What's the secret to getting hired at
Walgreens Pharmacy?
Working for a major corporation such as Walgreens only requires that you provide excellent customer service, a flexible schedule, and are a dependable person. Working with the public is not easy and handling problems can be a challenge. Taking your time to make customers happy can really make a difference in your day to day experience at your workplace....

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at
Walgreens Pharmacy?
Some of the most challenging aspects of my job working at Walgreens Pharmacy would be having to learn how to deal with customers and their insurance problems. This is in the beginning was a bit tough for me, I must admit. There have been times where I've had to explain to customers why their insurance wont pay for their medication often leaving the patient angry or extremely upset. In these cases I've learned to show the customer my concern by going out of my way to reach a doctor or making calls to an insurance company just to show them that I do care....

The secret to getting hired at Walgreens Pharmacy is to:
1. First of all you have to have experience. 2. Show your potential employer that you can work well under pressure. This pharmacy has a high volume of perscriptions (500-800) a day. 3.Have a beautiful smile. Employers at Walgreens are looking for individuals with an easy going personality who can work well with others and treat their customers with respect. Remember for each presciption that is filled you are saving a life. Whether its a simple cold or pain medication for someone that has cancer. Regardles of the situation you have to be able to deal with people and their different attitudes....
