How would you describe what you did at Weber State University: Student Affairs Technology?

As a lab aide, it was my job to assist students in the campus computer labs with their computing needs. Often times, students only have enough computer knowledge to use the internet and write papers. When a problem arises with the computer systems, it was my job to help students troubleshoot the problem so they could get on with their work, and I hope that maybe they will have learned a little bit about working with computers, as well.

I was expected to have a working knowledge of many computer programs used by students throughout campus, like Microsoft Office Suite, Corel WordPerfect, the university website, campus email, and a general knowledge of Windows XP. I am also experienced with Mac OS.

My general duties included: keeping a clean lab environment, maintaining the physical well-being of our computers, printers, and other equipment in the labs. I also assisted with setting up new lab equipment (including changing-out a lab's entire computer inventory) and helping the Computer Lab Technician with other projects, as needed, such as re-imaging computer systems.
