There isn't really a secret but I believe with me being a spouse of an active duty soldier had a lot to do with it.

Being determined and having a willingness to learn and grow. Teamwork is a key to being successful on the AAFES team.

My work at AAFES was beneficial to the company and rewarding.

The way I got hired as a consultant was by contacting a consulting firm ( Odyssey) and communicating my skills,
availability, and desire to work at AAFES.

Strong computer skills

I stocked shelves,cleaned area and helped customers

Observed customers in a retail store and recorded shoplifters on CCTV. Detained shoplifters, called law enforcement, and provided stolen merchandise and paperwork to law enforcement. Stored video tapes and evidence. Performed OSHA inspections on various facilities. Performed undercover work at various facilities on a supervisor's suspicion of employee theft....

Oversaw and took responsibility for all store operations. Monitored merchandise stock levels. Ensured stock is replaced, merchandise is ordered from the warehouse, and buyers are informed of any over and under stocked merchandise. Participated in and suggested marketing activities including advertising and special sales events. Interviewed, hired, and trained new staff. Provided a comfortable, helpful shopping atmosphere for all customers' problems, showing merchandise, explaining features and benefits. Protected the store's inventory by providing excellent customer service, knowing and following loss prevention procedures. Worked in a variety of areas, hard lines, soft lines, automotive, service area, and home and garden. Met and exceeded individual and store sales goals by utilizing personal and team selling techniques....

I started out as a cashier and was promoted to a supervisor. I ran the register, ordered, stocked, made labels, cash out registers, worked up deposits, open and close store, end of day procedures, ran video rental equipment, trained new associates, done payroll. I would run the Class Six store and Book Store when I was needed....
