??? Computer cash register knowledge, ability to multi-task, follow safety and health procedures, perform cleaning tasks, basic computer skill/knowledge of our in-store book master system. I also provided more one-on -one customer assistance while working as a bookseller. I helped facilitate children's reading programs and young adult book groups. Primarily responsible for Customer Service; responsible for cash and receipt accountability for each shift, finalizing and counting the store's daily deposit, controlled item inventory, employee training, refunds and returns, data entry and membership sales. As Lead Bookseller, responsible for upkeep, marketing, and inventory control of assigned sector of the store....

Customer service is very important. Customers are important to any retail store, but if the customer cant find what they are looking for, and you are unwilling to make the effort to get it for them, they will choose another store to get it. It is important to really work with a customer, because they might not know what they want, and are looking for a recommendation so you really need to focus on going beyond just helping a customer and really interact with them....

There was a man that absolutely refused to put out his cigarette even after several employees and customers made it clear to him that it was a non-smoking establishment. He wound up being escorted from the building by a few of our more tough looking coworkers. We gave some free dessert from the cafe to a couple of women who were by him during the whole episode....
