What's the secret to getting hired at ernst & young?

Originally I worked at a hospital that the firm was their external auditors. The Controller was very difficult to work with, so I would get the information the auditors needed to complete the audit. I was recruited by the audit team and I was at the firm for twelve years!

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at ernst & young?

the most challenging aspect of the job at Ernst and Young was managing the multiple high priority projects that were responding to business imperatives and satisfying the multiple clients client requirements with limited resources.

It forced us to become become more efficient in how we executed
tasks but even more importantly how effectively we planned and scheduled resources.

Perhaps the second most challenging aspect of the job was educating the client organizations on the impacts of technology change. Because of the distributed nature of the organizations involved some groups would either be ahead of our technology curve while others lagged behind. This we dealt with by communication and publishing clear guidelines.

What did you learn along the way at ernst & young?

During my years at Ernst & Young I learned that education can be taught in other places besides a classroom. I learned that professional does not mean simply business-like. Professional means accuracy with heart and effort.
