geac computers?
Responsible for designing and managing Geac's PLUS line of UNIX- and Informix-based library automation/ERP applications running on Sequent, RS-6000, Motorola, and Sun SPARC servers and automating business processes such as inventory control, cash management, purchasing, billing, accounts receivable and payable as well as traditional library functions such as cataloging, serials control, public access, and circulation. This included:
* Product Management o Gathering detailed product requirements from in-house subject matter experts, user group forums, and customers o Overseeing the work of up to 20 developers to ensure compliance to requirements and specifications * Business Analysis o Writing (MS Word) detailed functional specifications including conceptual and logical relational database design, the user-interface (MacDraw II), application workflow, and management reports and statistics o Ensuring compliance with national and international information and library standards * Customer and Internal Support o Writing and editing end-user documentation (FrameMaker) o Installing and training alpha and beta test sites o Training internal support and sales staff on new releases o Providing tier 3 support for reported problems * Sales and Marketing Support o Writing proposal boilerplate and sales and marketing collateral materials (MS Word) o Assisting in the quality assurance process o Participating in trade shows and user-group conferences o Providing proposal and demonstration support on a world-wide basis...
