What's the toughest problem you've had to solve at jack in the box?

When Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Ike hit, we lost a large number of our business partners' structural sites. I worked with our transportation team, corporate management, distribution management, my customers and my department, on coordination of recovery deliveries. I also had to assist our warehouse supervisors on ensuring that the correct inventory items were readily avialable for expediant loading and departures. What are the most challenging aspects of your job at jack in the box?

Decisions based on the outcome of an employees performance can be challenging. Ultimately, my reports and fact-finding can decide an employees longevity at the distribution center. During natural disasters, such as hurricanes, or coastal storms, working 10 to 20 hours on a single shift, to ensure re-build and recovery of a restaurant or entire area, while maintaining every day responsibilities, can be challenging. How would you describe what you did at jack in the box?

Every day has its' challenges, whether it's investigating the quality of a product that was returned from my customer, aiding in employee training, even to communicationg with our corporate office on product availability for distribution. Our department doesn't really have a supervisor, so all of the office personel answer to whse supervisors, transportation management, our general manager, shipping and receiving, our restaurants, vendors, and corporate office. Currently, I am responsible for all warehouse employee productivity, credit returns and research, quality control at the distribution level, customer's delivery orders, maintaining effective communication with our transportation team, and assisting any facility service issues.... read more

What's the secret to getting hired at jack in the box?

One must posess excellent communication skills; the ability to work proficiently with little to no supervision; ability to make quick, conscious yet effective decisions; able to solve customer concerns; act as a liason between Corporate and your customer. This is a fast-paced environment, so the ability to always be on top of all situations can be crucial. Candidate must be able to coordinate with the transportation department and the restaurants for delivery schedule maintenance and other matters. How would you describe what you did at jack in the box?

I counted the safe before and after every shift. Ovre saw the counting of employee registers. backed up orders and employees when they needed help. Over saw that the store was kept clean and above inspection standards. I ran cash registers. open and closed the store.
