Experiences at james madison university

I completed my PhD degree at the University of Georgia in May 2005.. My husband died in March, 2006 of cancer. Since I had my degree and had taught on a adjunct basis at several colleges in Atlanta I applied through the internet for teaching jobs all over the country and was hired by JMU for a year's position. My children are Georgia and I have decided to come back home. I knew nobody in Harrisonburg, VA when I applied, but it has
been a very good experience for me. I still own a home in Atlanta and I have to see whether I can sell it
I have worked in several non profitsin healthcare. I have been a bereavement counselor for a hospice in Atlanta.
a social worker at a local hospital and the Coordinator of Home Health for a local Senior Services Organization....

I received my minor in Gerontology and Certificate in Gerontology. I took an internship with the ElderAlliance during this time as well and helped organize programming for seniors in the community.

Performed very well in major and minor courses.

Completed the core competency for obtaining a Virginia State Teaching Certificate for High School Technology Education and completed 75% of the curriculum course work to complete the Masters Science degree with a 3.5 GPA. The state of Virginia Dept. of Education remote campus program was funding was cancelled while I was working in another state on a research and development program thus I could not complete this degree curriculum. The curriculum was eliminated due to lack of on campus student attendance....
