What's the best team you worked with at lowe's home improvement?

The front line is the only team that I have worked with at LOWE'S, which changes frequently because of the turnover rate of cashiers, but overall, we are a solid team, and we look after each other in ensuring we are helping one another. I would describe myself as a "mother hen" of the team because I like to quickly jump in and help people who are struggling and I am attentive to the needs of others.... read more

What advice would you give to a new employee at lowe's home improvement?

That working at LOWE'S is a great opportunity and privilege in that it offers great opportunities for advancement. A new employee obviously needs to know safety rules and regulations. What are the three best things about working at lowe's home improvement?

(1.) Being able to help people, knowing that a house is most people's biggest investment, both financially and personally, so the decisions that are being made are not easy, but it good in serving in the role of a mediator and encouraging people to make smart decisions. Also, because there is a relatively large elderly population in my area, having an opportunity to help them is intrinsically beneficial.
(2.) While all of my previous jobs have challenging to some level, this job has another level of challenge, in all the areas of responsibility that I take on, even with a cashier position. During our busy periods, I am often working at the customer service desk, working with customers at both counters, answering phones, questions and addressing other issues that may have arisen.

Melissa

What are the most challenging aspects of your job at lowe's home improvement?

The most challenging aspect of my job is not being able to help everybody, I am a natural problem solver, I like to jump and initiate a way to solve a problem, but there are always obstacles in helping every person. For example we may not have something in stock and customer doesn't understand that we are getting a shipment in, but they have to wait, or a customer attempts to return an expensive tool, bought several months before, without a receipt, and their attempts are thwarted, because of LOWE'S policies.... read more
