What are the most challenging aspects of your job at mtv networks?

At times, the work tends to be repetitive and not very challenging. I'm the type of person who likes new experiences and the ability to learn new trades. While I have certainly earned valuable experience working here, I feel that my skills have not been utilized as much as they should be and this has unfortunately resulted in a standstill as far as my chances of landing other job offers. That's why I've decided to take some courses offered by the company to enhance my computer skills. Graphic Design is a hot market, and a fun one at that. I love art and would greatly enjoy seeing my ideas come to life on a computer screen. If I can incorporate this trade into a job, then the classes will certainly be worthwhile.... read more

What's the secret to getting hired at mtv networks?

Everyone says that it all depends on who you know. While that is largely the truth, it is possible to obtain a position at MTV without knowing anyone internally. You have to be persistent, and like all jobs you have to start at the bottom. But eventually, you'll get to the top.

What was the main reason for accepting your job (location, opportunity, money) at mtv networks?

Before I accepted my current position with MTV Networks, I was working part-time as an Office Assistant at an Accounting firm. Although the hours were flexible, I knew I didn't want to be there forever. I received a phone call from an employment agency who said they had an open position with MTV and asked whether I would be interested. Even though it was only intended to be a long-term temporary work assignment, I still accepted the role because it was more along the lines of my field of interest. Two months after starting out as a temp, I was hired full-time and have been here ever since.... read more

After just 2 months, I was hired full-time and I have been a staff member at MTV Networks ever since. It just goes to show that temping does pay off and can lead to permanent employment.... read more
