How would you describe what you did at university of colorado at boulder - chemical engineering labs?

I did research in two areas, chronic pain, and diabetes. During the diabetes research, I really had a chance to innovate and come up with some interesting solutions. My supervisor let me do the research on my own, even when she was there, and I ended up solving a problem that she and her supervisor had been working on. I invented a method of creating a tiny polymer scaffold which would contain a smaller polymer scaffold of different properties. The smaller scaffold had to "float" inside the larger one for our experiments to work properly, and my method allowed this to happen.
