I did research in two areas, chronic pain, and diabetes. During the diabetes research, I really had a chance to innovate and come up with some interesting solutions. My supervisor let me do the research on my own, even when she was there, and I ended up solving a problem that she and her supervisor had been working on. I invented a method of creating a tiny polymer scaffold which would contain a smaller polymer scaffold of different properties. The smaller scaffold had to "float" inside the larger one for our experiments to work properly, and my method allowed this to happen. Overall, the experience was extremely interesting and I learned a great deal about research and engineering from it....
