How would you describe what you did at university of michigan - ann arbor?

My coursework ranged from classes in media, writing, and film, to supplemental courses in the natural sciences and mathematics. My liberal arts degree provides me with a broad background in many topics and strong writing skills.

Additionally, the nature of U of M exposed me to individuals
and ideas from many backgrounds. The learnings I received from my fellow peers were perhaps even more valuable to my undergraduate experience.... read more

2005-2006 UNIVERSITY ACTIVITIES CENTER
Vice President - External Relations

* Responsible as an executive member of the largest student organization at the University, a position appointed by the University and previous executive board. Committee
managed $200,000 in school reagent budget.
* Constructed system of co-sponsorship procedure to effectively identify, sponsor, and execute quality programming.
* Managed to hold over 15 co-sponsorships with external organizations on campus, most notably a collective effort in producing "Ludacris" hip-hop concert, overcoming criticism that the University unfairly budgets to favor UAC committees.

2006 PI ALPHA PHI NATIONAL FRATERNITY
President

* Revamped goals and eliminated unnecessary procedures hindering productivity; oversaw all chairs and committees, conducted weekly meetings, maintained morale, and ensured that all goals and tasks were completed by due time.
* Assisted in directing Jade Ribbon Campaign for Hepatitis-B awareness, sponsored by Stanford University Hospital. Held campus-wide workshops and fundraising events that raised over 1000 dollars.
* Achieved an increase of participant yield by 200%, membership by 50% compared to previous recruitment periods.

2005 UNIVERSITY HAZING TASK FORCE

* Appointed position by Multicultural Greek Council. Responded to hazing complaints, organized educational workshops, and conducted anti-hazing campaign. Participated in the hazing allegation investigation when deemed necessary by the Chairpersons
