amber, How would you describe what you did at Sonic Drive-In?

I did many things at Sonic. When I started, they first started training me on drive thru and fountain at the same time. Which included making drinks and ice cream, using the switchboard, and taking orders. After a few weeks, when I had all of that learned, I started car hopping. There I hopped orders out, took orders, and so on. Eventually I learned to cook on my own time. When I went on breaks, I would have the cooks show me how to make my food and I learned to cook that way. After a year of working, I was asked to become a shift leader. Now I supervise employees, help where assistance is needed, train new employees, count drawers and car hops down, and make deposits.

What I did to get hired was to constantly smile and I was friendly. Even when I got my application and through my interview. Because when you're there working, you have to always be smiling and be friendly. It's part of the job.

My secret to getting hired at Sonic is to come to door with a smile and ask for an application to work there. After you have filled out your application go back to the door with the same smile and let them know you are finished. Most of the time they will tell you they will call you back, but if you flash your prettiest smile, you get an interview right then and there. While the manager is interviewing you, make sure you let them know that you are a people person and you love to interact with everyone. They just love to see people willing to work and have fun while they are doing it.

At sonic I started out with making drinks and the ice cream. I then progressed to taking the customers' orders and bringing condiments to them. My final stage at sonic was car hopping, which in involved bringing food to the customers and handling money.

Fun and hardworking. I enjoyed it so much from interacting with customers and coworkers. I take orders so remembering where buttons are is key. When it comes down to making drinks and other treats, you have to know how to make it all. I love the customers. Some can be rude, but just overall seeing and talking to prople is easy and painless for me. I love the people interaction. Im a people person. Im a quick thinker and multi-task alot!
