Sheryl, What are the most challenging aspects of your job at Swift Transportation?

There are two main challenges at Swift. First, dealing with frustration from a driver who feels his driver manager doesn't care, he hasn't seen his family in 4 - 6 weeks, or more, his truck has broke down AND he has no money to eat. I've never been a driver, but I have a family member who is. With this in mind, I treat each person who comes to the window as a brother or sister. Whether it's truely listening, helping him/her find a load getting them towards home, talking with the shop about when the truck will be done, and even so far as giving food from my own drawer (ie., soup, crackers, etc) The second challenge is politics of coporate environment. When a company gets too large that the "human" factor is overlooked, well, that is when the first challenge escalates.
