The secret is self confidence and the ability to handle any opportunity that comes my way. I am a mature, focused person and have a cool head under pressure. As a travel director, I have demonstated the diplomatic skills to difuse any conflict on site and have worked with the other members of the team to brainstorm the best way of making a program work.

George, What's the secret to getting hired at self employed?

To be self employed requires a certain mindset and personality. Just as you need to be hard working, dependable, and profecient in working for someone else's company, you need many more attributes to work for yourself. You must be a risk taker, an investor, an entrepreneur, an accountant, and a great manager. I have often heard the remarks like "Why do you put yourself through that?" or "You couldn't pay me enough to what you do". I think it has a lot to do with setting high goals and getting the satisfaction of attaining them, time and time again. You can climb up the ladder of success at your own pace and learn all the skills it takes to be successful by actually doing it and learn by any mistakes you might make. It's not quitting when you fall down and having the ability to get up and and keep trying even harder the next time. It's the satisfaction of doing well and being able to earn more than working for someone else. If you have this spirit, this drive, and this energy to work this way and make your business your life, it's very rewarding in many ways. I would do it over in a minute if I was only twenty five again!

You must be willing to take a risk and then to be one hundred percent committed to working down that risk to a point where you are successful. You cannot be afraid of mistakes and failure. Those are the building blocks of a successful entrepreneur.
