As a "Demonstration Specialist" at Bose I am responsible for helping customers find the right home theater system for their needs. It is my responsibility to find out what the customer already has, and what they want to get out of their system. On top of this I am responsible for troubleshooting problems that a customer might have as well as help resolve any problems a customer might have with a product.

Eric, What do people do for fun after work at Bose?

There's a bar right down the street that people (especially Marketing) go to pretty often. Also, a lot of people at Bose are musicians and so there's always people getting together to jam or rehearse or listen to music. But also lots of people have families and just go home to be with them.

Eric, What's the best team you worked with at Bose?

I was on the engineering team that created the SoundDock digital music system for iPod. I was managing the requirements and product vision. The team was incredibly psyched about making such a cool product that we knew would be a big hit in the marketplace. We agreed early on to try to go after a really aggressive schedule and were proud when we hit our deadlines. The team was highly-focused, but also collaborative and fun to work with.

Eric, What are the three best things about working at Bose?

1. The corporate culture. It's friendly, open, serious, hardworking, but also caring and well-balanced. 40-hour weeks are the norm at Bose.

2. The pride in the products we make. Everyone at Bose is customer-focused and we are proud to delight our customers and exceed their expectations with our products.

3. The people. Bose works very hard to hire people that will mesh well together, but also make strong individual contributions. The team spirit and progress we make together when we collaborate is amazing!

Eric, How did you find your job at Bose?

A colleague of mine from graduate school is a researcher at Bose. I contacted him and started interviewing for audio research positions. As part of that process, I met one of the marketing directors, and we really hit it off. So I ended up moving into a marketing-strategy position instead.
