At Florida International University I was able to expand my ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.

Having learned to manage the Raiser's Edge database I was responsible for entering of various gifts to include major gifts, state matches, gift-in-kind and gifts given in the form of stocks. I initiated the writing of policies and procedures for all the department operations and policies and procedures for gift entry. I created a basic user friendly manual for new Raiser's Edge users which was to be used to train everyone in the division that had contact with the Raiser's Edge to ensure proper data entry. I was also part of the Data Integrity Committee.

I was responsible for creating weekly and monthly membership reports which was used by the Alumni Association to track the progress of their fundraising efforts and goals for the new fiscal year.

I reconciled monthly gift entries made by other Program Assistants and Coordinators to ensure all monies were accounted for.

A turn around time of 24 hours was required for the mailing of receipts to constituents who made donations of $250 and above, a deadline which I was able to meet.

From my undergraduate studies, I gained deep knowledge of every aspect of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC), including media planning, public relations, writing and execution of creative briefs, and marketing research. These skills empowered me to win second place out of 50 teams who participated in the North America International Advertising Association annual InterAd XI competition.
I am a highly motivated leader and team player. I am results driven and have the ability to learn quickly. As a member of your company I would bring a positive attitude and initiative to achieve results. In addition to my academic qualifications, I am fully bilingual (English/Spanish) and proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

I was fortunate to have a very capable and knowledgeable faculty who had the foresight, back in the mid-90's to tackle the global issues involved with the environment. FIU was ranked on par with Duke University with their forward-thinking program.

Moving from a Big Ten School to FIU was hard - campus life is just not the same. That being said, I love FIU because their Hospitality Program ensures you get hands on experience and can apply book knowledge not just recite it. I am glad I was exposed to both types of campus life. FIU helped me get where I am today while Ohio State taught me to have fun!
