Over the last several years at Fidelity, I have had the the opportunity to speak with many customers in regards to their benefit plans. In my most recent role, I was responsible for emergency type situations. Working through these issues and providing 100% resolution has made me a stronger individual. I have learned that it is not just getting the job done that counts but providing a quality service to those individuals . I value and take pride in providing good customer service and to add value to the end result.

Michael, What are the most challenging aspects of your job at Fidelity Investments?

The most challenging aspects of the position was dealing with the hectic pace of the environment. It was certainly baptism by fire, but I more than excelled at my job. I was involved with dealing with Senior Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents within the marketing department on a daily basis. My boss had an immensely busy schedule every day, so I needed to make sure that her calendar was always correct and updated, and that everything was taken care of within a department of many people.

Another challenging aspect was in dealing with the unexpected. From conference rooms not being available to the death of a co-worker, I needed to always be on top of my game and be ready to deal with any crisis that may come my way.

I had been there in the past three times as a consultant and in each case my work was exceptional. I was reliable, dependable and above all, I was a 'go getter' and 'go to' person. I worked smart and intelligently, and do not believe that the number of hours spent on tasks necessary equates to productivity.
