I worked in a spacious laboratory with a DEC VAX, a whole pile of testing equipment and a couple of Macs. I was just down the hall from a vending machine which had hot food if you worked late. Security was pretty hardcore.

Well in the mothership at Sunnyvale the company had a really good staff canteen called URLs (Earls geddit). In London, catering was a bit more basic, partly because the landlord had so much restrictions on the business. However there is a number of good eateries around the area.

It depends which country you are in. In Europe its generally small open plan desks. The seats were pretty uncomfortable. In the US its your standard cube farm. Generally Yahoo! offices are pretty highly branded and everyone but sales gives their workspace their own personal feel.

I guess the whole Tom Cruise audience which was webcast on the intranet though on second thoughts it was more surreal than anything else. Or the way the European MD Dominque Vidal used to pronounce the words focus and households. With focus, the o became a u and the c became a hard k sound; households hou became ar and the d was softened to an e. Purile I know but it was really funny when people form the German and Italian offices were coming up and saying 'Did he really say what I thought he did?' and you had to explain the truth with a straight face. Ok so you had to be there to appreciate it fully.
