Rachel, What music do you listen to at Jobster?

Depending on my whim -- I can listen to a fairly eclectic mix of listener (a.k.a. employer) selected music playing from the speakers streaming from Slim Server, or I might put on the headphones and listen to anything from my own electic mix, streaming KEXP, or one of the stations on live365.com who's playing indie rock, D&B, or hip hop.

Rachel, What do you miss most about iXL?

At the height of the dotcom madness in 2000, we had the best in employee unproductivity at our disposal -- foozball table (I got *really* good at this), ping pong table, our very own gourmet cafeteria which converted nicely into a ballroom on occasion, our very own exclusive gym in the basement complete with group exercise classes, a playstation room, I think there was a pool table too in the cafeteria. Right before I left for a new position, I think there were talks of a rooftop bar and basketball court. Those were the days. ;-)

When e-books infiltrate our every day lives, you can say, electicstory.com was here first (....or one of the firsts :-) )

This will be hard, but some of the 100's on top of my list would be Zeitgeist, Elliott Bay Books, The Ferry, Gallery 110, Mae Phim

I am the principal of Wired Pixels, which offers web design and development services. I am looking for individuals and small-to-medium sized businesses who wish to establish (or redesign) a fresh and professional online identity custom-tailored to your particular needs and persona. I enjoy collaborating with my clients in creating customer-centered, user-friendly online spaces which allow their audience to find the information that they want to find (as well as the information you want them to find) easily and quickly. I also enjoy helping my clients in identifying successful online marketing and communication strategies they can integrate into their website or as part of their online marketing strategy which translate into higher customer conversion rates.

Rachel, What was your first job?

I got my first real paying job when I was a freshmen in high school as a cashier/grocery bagger for Pathmark (a grocery store chain in the east coast, does it still exist?). Before that, I "worked" at a deli my mom owned but I mostly just hung out in the break room watching MTV and occasionally saying "hi" to the regulars. I learned how to make some good old-fashioned east coast style hoagies and philly steaks as a result of that experience!

Rachel, What profession other than yours would you like to try?

In no particular order, I wonder what it might be like to work as a teacher (science or art), an architect, travel writer, a trapeze artist, renowned artist, art director, doctor, entrepreneur, inventor, illustrator, children's book author, film maker. Yes, all over the map, but the days are gone where we must limit ourselves to having a single profession for the rest of lives, so you never know.
