Dana, How did you find your job at Nytec?

My best friend's ex-fiance's eldest brother worked with a writer, so I got introduced to her socially and then hired by her professionally, right out of school. How's that for networking? ;)

Dana, What did you learn along the way at SolutionsIQ?

Not all MIcrosoft vendor agencies are created equally. Solutions IQ had its advantages and disadvantages. They were very hands-off, so no weekly meetings or status reports to fill in = good. But then I never really knew anyone at the company (I worked onsite at Microsoft on this particular contract), and I didn't receive benefits like paid time off or health insurance, which was not-so-good. You take the good, you take the bad...

Dana, What are five lesser-known perks at Allyis?

1. Great benefits - 401k, paid time off, life insurance and disability, and for people with families, up to $500 per month toward childcare.
2. They throw great holiday parties.
3. They give great gifts to help celebrate life occasions (weddings, new home, babies, etc), and also offer great support when things aren't going well (bereavement, sick leave). When I had surgery they sent flowers and a gift certificate for one of those home delivery food places.
4. They hire really smart people who you'll actually want to see outside of work.
5. Allyis pays better than any other vendor I ever worked for.
