I built out data in Jobster's recruiter application to demo at the launch of Jobster, and later for the sales team to demo the service (ficticious "Red Brick" company). I also helped to develop a formal Customer Referral program.

Tifani, What's the interview process like at Janet Wainwright Public Relations?

Very conversational interview with Janet (aka "big boss"), and usually one other person. The questions were standard fare along with unique questions about your favorite movies, directors, actors, etc, and questions about creative marketing/promotion campaigns you've pulled off in the past. High-level questions might include giving examples of what you'd do to promote XYZ upcoming film.

Babysitting, and lots of it. My first real job, however, was a Courtesy Clerk at Safeway during high school (later Helper Clerk and Checker). My friends and I liked to call it "Slaveway" at the time, but overall working there for two years was a great experience.

The wrong hiring manager pulled me into a room and started interviewing me for a much more experienced role than I had applied for. I answered her questions as best I could, and after 15 minutes of confusion, the hiring manager I should have been interviewing with came in to get me. I was so thrown off that the "real" interview was less than stellar!

I was recruited to work for the summer as a door-to-door book salesman my freshman year of college (across the country). That was an intensive introduction to sales I'll never forget. Not long after, I got into film promotion and PR, where I worked for a few years. That was fun, but not quite as fulfilling as the sales world. So here I am.
