Jose, How would your co-workers describe you?

The first 90 days of starting a new job I stray from making friends, BECAUSE I will have all the time in the world to make friends after the probationary period. in which time I have made great friends and some consider me to be hard working meaning that I take little to no time off from work. while others say I am too enthralled in work and need time away.

like I said, I never been raised to think as humans in such a way.
or entities for that matter.
I like authors of philosophy and science like: Michio Kaku, Guy Debord, Arthur Kroker, Jacques Derrida.

in accordance to the workforce, my passion is not necessarily driven by making money, ok. my concern is to find a position that would allow me to continue to become the best college graduate in my class, ok. that means I need a flexible environment that will work him me to further my studies in anthropology, film, music.

Jose, What path did you take to your current career?

my path was very unconventional in the sense that I did not acquire a college degree, BUT plan on getting my studies in order. in other words I simply followed the steps from basic shipping clerk, warehouse lead, warehouse supervisor to manager. you must master your current position in the keeping in mind to aim at advancing to the next level. take advantage of any skills seminar that your job may offer plus supplement what you learn in college into the workplace.

Jose, What advice do you have for someone who wants a job like yours?

my advice is too not be a push over, your employees run the risk of taking advantage whenever possible, and it has nothing to do with malice, it comes from boredom/laziness. when managing people always make sure you have "planned" out extra duties, so when it dead they'll have a plethora of assignments to keep them busy. another advice is to be constantly moving that means keeping your eyes and hears peeled to; nose around at what other things you could do to improve the conditions in your department. thus innovating whatever possible.

Jose, Who was your most influential mentor and what did they teach you?

never ever have I been exposed to a mentor relationship at any of my previous jobs. I was always in a position to learn everything myself by asking questions, trial and error, then implementing those processes that work best. however I do understand mentors are quite common in corporate culture.
