      <title>Matt, What's your dream job?</title>
      <link>http://www.jobster.com/at/answer/view/172471?answer_class=AnswerBase</link>
<description>As an executive I work at (not for) XYZ company. XYZ company is a small to medium size company that is quickly growing. We are growing the companies revenues and profits every year and we are responsible corporate citizens in managing the company for the owners or shareholders along with the employees.

I am responsible for managing (General Manager, Chief of Operations, Director of Operations, etc.) a dynamic group of professional people. These people understand the following:

(a) The work they do matters because we are building a reputation of quality products or services all the while following ethical business practices in order to attract new and retain existing clients in order to drive revenues and profits.

(b) The work they do matters because the company will share their success (e..g- meaning bonuses, tuition reimbursement, ESOP, special but regular events to celebrate employee's contributions, etc.) because they understand that the employees are the engine behind every great company.

(c) The work matters because we are proud of the brand and reputation of XYZ company. They are so proud that they tell their friends, family and the guy they meet in the checkout line that they work for XYZ company.

(d) They like XYZ company because they offer 360 degree reviews where not only do the staff receive performance feedback from management but management gets a performance review from the staff. Most importantly, the feedback is taken seriously and acted upon so that changes and improvements are made within the organization.

(e) They like XYZ company because they contribute to the community and give back in a meaningful way. This may be through Habitat for Humanity, Walk-A-Thon for Breast Cancer or just being a mentor for a company called Youthfriends.

XYZ company pays people a highly competitive wage, a benefits package that is recognized as being very good for a company of our size, the benefits are also very progressive (e.g.- Sabbaticals). The equipment, work spaces and general office environment is positive, upbeat and people have a good sense of humor while respecting the fact that we are in a workplace with rules.

Further defined, the company culture is one that is supportive of the work/life balance. The company never wants people to have difficulty deciding whether to put family first instead of getting a project done. The culture is supportive enough that if an employee has a personal problem and has to be gone people aren't only willing to help but just help without even thinking. The culture is progressive by the office furniture, equipment and space which has been significantly planned to try to make it a place that we like to work. Lastly, the company culture is one where people are not overly formal in their dress or daily interactions but also remain professional.

XYZ company is successful because we routinely grow revenues, profits, the employees are happy, engaged and we are continuously learning to be a better company in all disciplines.</description>
